Martin Luther King Jr.

Martin Luther King Jr, born on January 15, 1929, in Atlanta Georgia. Most famous for his iconic statement, “I have a dream”, and his significant role being a civil-rights activist and a Baptist minister, which was crucial to the ending of legal segregation of african-american citizens mostly in the south, but other states as well. His efforts eventually led to many great achievements in his life, one of those achievements being, the Nobel Peace Prize. By believing in himself and believing that everybody is capable of living together in harmony was how he was able to, not only achieve the Nobel Peace Prize, but many other honors as well.  Sadly, while Martin was very successful in his goals, he was assassinated in April 1968, however, his legacy lives on through everybody who supported, and supports, his dream.
“The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character – that is the goal of true education.” Is one quote of many by, the great, MLK. I believe this quote means that good judgment is just as important as knowledge when getting educated. Martin had amazingly good judgment, even though he lived in a world where racism was everywhere, he never ever hated anybody because he wanted everybody to live together in peace. Even people that hated him, he learned to love. I try to live by the same code of ethics by never judging anything or anyone before I've truly experienced it. Martin Luther King Jr. was, and still is, an inspiration to many people who believed in the same things and still fights for his cause.
